Hands, Land & Sea by the Coastland Times (pages 41-45).
Nice story by Summer Stevens, as I am featured in our local paper's special addition, "Hands, Land & Sea", pages 41-45.
Organic Natural Indigo Dye Workshop-Island Farm
At the beautiful setting of Island Farm, Roanoke Island, NC, I will be teaching a 3 day workshop on how to create an organic natural indigo dye vat using indigenous fruits of Roanoke Island (figs & pears). A variety of stitching and folding techniques of Shibori and Itajame may be utilized so that each student should go home with 3 completed organic cotton hand towels.

Greenleaf Gallery
I have been so proud to have had my work presented so beautifully in the absolutely best gallery on North Carolina's Outer Banks. This gallery was a must see if you should find yourself in the vicinity of Duck, N.C..
Sadly, after 24 years of business, Greenleaf Gallery has closed it's doors in 2016. This is so unfortunate for the art community of the Outer Banks, but hopefully a happy time for Didi and Rick Tupper.
If on the Outer Banks, you can still find my work at the Dare County Arts Council, located in the old Courthouse building, in the Manteo waterfront, or contact me by email (watersideweaver@charter.net) or cell phone (252-256-2796).
The Green Mountain Spinnery
Green Mountain Spinnery is a worker-owned cooperative in Putney, Vermont. All wool raised at Island Farm, Roanoke Island, N.C. is sent to Green Mountain Spinnery where it is custom spun, using only biodegradable soaps and oils in the scouring and spinning processes for a certified organic product. Green Mountain Spinnery guarantees that the wool they spin for us is exclusively from our sheep.
Grovewood Gallery
Grovewood Gallery is located adjacent to the Omni Grove Park Inn in North Asheville. The gallery showcases traditional and contemporary craft, all handmade by American artisans.
The 2016 season will be my first in showing my work there, and I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity!
Made in the Carolinas
So grateful for Richard Green (& Time Warner Cable) for taking the time and interest in telling my story. I think he did a really good job at capturing it.
